Hi Workout At Home Fan,

I found a sneak preview video of the TRX Kettlebell Iron Circuit Conditioning DVD & Guide that will be available on July 19, 2010.

You will love this video if you are a minimalist and would enjoy a workout at home using the two most effective yet portable and affordable fitness tools in the world…the TRX Suspension Trainer and the kettlebell

A minimalist hates complication, clutter and waste.

Suspension exercise and kettlebell workouts fit the bill.

The TRX weighs less than three pounds and can be stuffed in a bag and set up anywhere inside or out for a complete full body workoout.

Both The TRX and Kettlebell are the ultimate in simplicity….individually they are powerful workout tools …combined they create a synergistic fusion guaranteed to rock your world.

The TRX/Kettlebell DVD hosts former Soviet Special Forces trainer and Russian Kettlebell (RKC) Chief Instructor Pavel Tsatsouline and Fitness Anywhere’s Director of Programming, Chris Frankel.

The TRX/Kettlebell DVD features a complete introduction of the TRX and Kettlebell that includes setup with a warm up followed by a 60 minute real time workout that alternates between TRX and Kettlebell exercises.

You can benefit from the TRX/Kettlebell DVD regardless of your level of conditioning or experience with either fitness tool because each exercise is performed at three levels of difficulty allowing you to choose your level of exercise.

This DVD and Guide is a bargain when you consider that Pavel is regarded around the world as being the kettlebell authority.

Kettlebells have been popular in Russia for centuries and was used by elite Russian strong men but in the past five years kettlebells have exploded in popularity in America mainly due to Pavel and Dragon Door publications and are now being used by pro athletes, hollywood stars and the U.S. Millitary.

The TRX Suspension Trainer has also exploded in popularity during the same time frame and is currently being used by notable pro athletes such as Superbowl winning quarterback Drew Brees, Seven time Tour De France winner Lance Armstrong and MMA champion George St. Pierre to name just a few.

Both the TRX and Kettlebell can be used to improve your functional strength, flexibility, agility and speed.

Both tools are ideal for the new metabolic workouts like PACE, Turbulence Training or The Truth About Abs.

Check out the video below and let us know what you think.

Hi Workout At Home Fan,

I found a great free workout for you from Mike Geary who is a certified personal trainer and the creator of the hottest abs program on the internet entitled The Truth About Abs.

This workout without weights program is great if you want to workout at home or your office in a minimal amount of time without having to go to a stinky gym or spend money on expensive gym equipment.

Mike warns that this is not like any progam that you have ever heard about.

Instead of working out 3-4 times a week for up to an hour a day (like everyone else recommends) Mike recommends that you perform bodyweight exercises for about 2-3 minutes six to eight times a day.

This method will probably work well for you if you struggle to start doing an exercise because the task seems too overwhelming or too boring.

I don’t know about you but the biggest struggle I have to exercise is just getting started.

This is where I recommend implementing the Japanese art of Kaizen.

The Kaizen philosophy is that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

If you are having trouble getting motivated to begin an exercise program try telling yourself that you will do just a few minutes of exercise as Mike Geary suggests.

You will probably find that once you get started you can easily add minutes to each portion of this workout as you increase your stamina and strength.

Mikes article will give you specific bodyweight exercises that you can use and he encourages to add your own exercises or you may want to eventually add weights, dumbells or even kettlebells to the mix.

One of the best things about this workout is that you don’t have to do the entire workout in the morning or evening.

You can actually fit this workout into your busy workschedule and be done by the time you get home leaving you time to spend time with you family or indulge in other entertainment or relaxation without feeling guilty.

Unique Lean-Body Workouts for Time-Crunched People: Super-Fast “Multi-Workouts” to do at Home or the Office

by Mike Geary, Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Personal Trainer

Author – The Truth About Six Pack Abs

Warning: this style of workout is WAY different than anything you’ve ever tried before and may result in a dramatically leaner, stronger body so that your friends no longer recognize you in a matter of weeks!

Alright, I exaggerated about your friends recognizing you, but this workout is still great for busy people that always use the excuse that they don’t have time to go to the gym, or even for the normal gym rat to try out for a few weeks to break out of a plateau.

Please keep an open-mind and don’t worry so much about what other people think, because this is quite different and you may get some funny looks, but you’ll get the last laugh with your new rock hard body!

To be honest, most people are too self conscious to try something like this. If that’s the case for you, then that’s your loss.

Hey Workout At Home Fan,

I just came across an amazing article in The Kiteboarder magazine that tells about how Sir Richard Branson is preparing to Kiteboard the English Channel to celebrate his 60th birthday on July 18th, 2010.

This article will interest you if you are adventuresome and would like to get a world class workout without weights at home that will prepare you for any challenging situation that arises.

According to the article Branson’s own fitness company Virgin Active has put together a training package which includes some of the latest, cutting edge fitness equipment…the training package includes the TRX Suspension Trainer.

The amazing thing to me is how Branson who owns his own gyms and has any equipment and training that he desires at his disposal is choosing to prepare to cross the English Channel with a suspension exercise device that you and I can afford for less than $200.

If you follow the link to the original article you will see a photo of Branson working out on the TRX in what appears to be a gym but the TRX is so portable that it can be set up in your home or office by attaching it to a door or you can attach it to a tree or post outside to workout without weights anywhere.

Bransons trainer chose several non traditional fitness tools because Kitesurfing is a very challenging sport that requires tremendous core and functional strength.

Traditional gym machines usually isolate one body part and allow you to exercise that part such as an arm in one repeated motion.

Suspension exercise with the TRX allows you to perform over 300 exercises and each and every exercise serves to work your core as your body harnesses gravity and your bodyweight as it attempts to stabilize itself.

The more natural movements employed by suspension exercise allow the user to mimic real life situations that are encountered in every day life as well as sports activities such as kiteboarding.

I guess I should not be too surprised that Branson is training with the TRX because the TRX is currently being used by Seven Time Tour De France Champion Lance Armstrong and Superbowl Winning Quarterback Drew Brees as well as Mixedd Martial Arts Champion George St. Pierre to name just a few…

Check out the article about Sir Richard Branson’s trek accross the English Channel by clicking on the link to the original article …

SIR RICHARD BRANSON TO CELEBRATE HIS 60TH BIRTHDAY BY KITESURFING THE ENGLISH CHANNEL
By Paul

Kiteboarder Magazine

Virgin Active today announces that Sir Richard Branson, who celebrates his 60th birthday this coming Sunday July 18th, will be flying high to celebrate hitting the big six zero by kitesurfing the English channel.

Richard, never one to shy away from a challenge (and suffering from the delusion that his bus pass is NOT in the post!), will – in the company of his nephews, children and a few mad friends undertake this challenge.

Richard looks set to become the oldest person to kite-surf across the channel – from Dungeness to the French coast – but Richard is not so keen to make a big issue over that one! This cool, fun, colourful and frankly crazy challenge will take place during the month of August.

Hi Workout At Home Fan,

I found something exciting for you if you are an older adult or know of someone who may be losing strength and vitality and who needs a workout at home workout without weights that can help them to build functional strength to allow them to do everyday activities to keep them independent.

Below is an embedded copy of a Free download entitled “Growing Stronger – Complete Workout Without Weights For Older Adults.

Just click the enlarge button below and you can enlarge this book to fit your entire screen to make it easier to read.

I found this great free ebook publication from the Center For Disease Control so it is not just a lot of fluff it is based on sound principles.

Here is a list of the exercises covered in the book:
SQUATS
WALL PUSH-UPS
TOE STANDS
FINGER MARCHING
BICEPS CURL
STEP-UPS
OVERHEAD PRESS
SIDE HIP RAISE
KNEE EXTENSION
KNEE CURL
PELVIC TILT
STRETCHES
Hold for 20—30
Seconds
CHEST & ARMS
HAMSTRINGS
QUADRICEPS
NECK AND BACK
BACK EXTENSION

A few of the exercises outlined in the book do require that you use some light dumbells but most of the exercises use your own bodyweight to leverage gravity.

This book is very thorough and even covers topics such as visualization and goal setting and it includes weekly workout plans that you may want to print out and actually fill in as you complete your workout goals.

Also included are detailed illustrations of each exercise with a step by step description.

You will also find sections on strength building and post workout stretching

Of all the exercises included in this book one of the most important is the squats exercise.

Continue to do your squats and you will be able to stay upright and mobile for years to come.

This book is ideal for inactive or deconditioned older adults but if you have stayed in pretty good shape you will need a workout that is more intensive or more challenging for you.

My only other concern is that many older adults may prefer A DVD or audio CD to reading an ebook or a book.

In this case I would recommend Dr. SEARS PACE 12 Minute Fitness Revolution CD or DVD you can check out Dr. Sears catalog of products by clicking on the following link: Dr. Sears PACE 12 Minute Fitness Revolution

Please use the scroll bar to review this book and pass it on to an older adult who may need this information.

Hi Workout At Home Enthusiast,

I have a treat for you if you would like a great a great exercise ball workout without weights that is free and includes step by step clear photos of each exercise.

I think this is the best exercise ball workout that I have found so far on the internet.

I came across Jon Ham’s website while admiring one of his TRX / Indo Board Fusion workouts but that is for another post.

You will love the exercise ball because it is so inexpensive costing around $10-$15 at Walmart or Target and it stores away so easily.

You wont have to worry about it being in the way in your home or doubling as a clothes hanger the way a lot of home gyms wind up.

You will also like the fact that Jon’s exercise ball workout does not rely on the use of dumbells or other workout gadgets.

You can do his almost the entire workout using your own bodyweight.

The exercise ball workout is great for increasing your functional strength because every exercise forces you to balance and stablize your core muscles.

You can do this exercise ball workout just about anywhere you have a small space and it is even great for working out while traveling or for destressing at the office.

You may even consider this as a workout for your kids who are going to college and staying in a dorm or small apartment.

They can even use the exercise ball as an extra chair for using at the computer or for sitting on to study for exams.

Even just sitting on the ball will cause your abs and stomach to contract while you stabilize your body while balancing on the ball.

On The Ball!

By Jon Ham

I wrote an e-book a few years ago on How to use the stability ball which was broken down by exercise for each muscle group, complete with descriptions on how to do each exercise. I never did much with it, so now I think it is good information for this website. Feel free to comment!

Hi Workout At Home Enthusiast,

I found this great article that will interest you if you want to get a world class workout at home or anywhere with an extremely portable and affordable gym.

Or if you think you may want to buy a TRX but are not sure if it is right for you.

The article below is a great review and gives you the thoughts and experiences of several Canadians some of which are experiencing Suspension Training for their first time.

Although the TRX at first glance looks unimpressive …like some seat belt straps …it is used by some of the most elite pro athletes in the world…like Super Bowl Winning Quarterback Drew Brees….MMA champion George St. Pierre, the oldest pitcher in baseball Jamie Moyer, and NBA star Carmello Anthony to name just a few…

The amazing thing about the TRX Suspension Trainer is that it sets up in mere seconds by attaching it indoors to a door or a wall with optional attachment bracket or outside to a tree, fence or post so that you can workout at home or anywhere.

Check out the article below to see what Canadians think of the TRX…

WINNIPEG – At first glance, it looks unimpressive — like a pair of extra-long seatbelts dangling from the wall.

Personal trainer Jennifer Marucci demonstrates an “atomic pushup” using the TRX Suspension Training equipment.

If you happen to stay up late enough to catch the persuasive infomercial on television, then you’ll know the unsightly contraption is actually a piece of fitness equipment that’s supposed to get users muscled up, no dumbbells required.

It’s called the TRX. Super Bowl-winning quarterback Drew Brees reportedly uses the system to stay in shape.

Developed by an American Navy SEAL who made the original TRX out of sewn-together parachute webbing, the suspension training system is one of the latest trends to create a buzz in the fitness world.

Today, personal trainer Allan Zimmer instructs four young women in his studio to each climb into a TRX unit and pushes them through a particular exercise.

Each of the women — Kym Shwaluke, Kellea Johnston, Denise Young and Kathy Vlaming — attempts to tackle the allotted task.

A droplet of sweat moves slowly down Young’s face. The real estate agent is strapped into a TRX doing her best single-leg squat.

Zimmer, owner of Sustainable Fitness, praises her efforts and reminds her to concentrate. Judging by their flushed faces, the others in the group are putting in just as much effort. It’s not easy.

“You’re leaning and you’re thinking, ‘Oh my God. If I let go, I’m going to fall on my face,’” says Young.

“But there’s really no way that you’re going to fall over.”

Hi Workout At Home Fan,

I just read this great article that has ten ways that you can workout at home for way less money than what you would spend on a home gym or expensive gym membership.

You can get all of the items in this article for under $200.

One item on the list costs just five dollars…can you guess what it is?

I will give you a hint.

The greatest heavyweight fighter of all time Muhamad Ali used it to train.

It is also used by kids on playgrounds.

The article lists Suspension Trainers as being the best bang for your buck but then goes on to recommend The Monkey Bar Gym.

I know that I am biased but the TRX Suspension Trainer even though it costs more is a lot better investment because it extremely heavy duty as evidenced by its use by pro athletes and trainers in all sports and it will allow you to perform over 300 bodyweight exercises anywhere.

When you buy a TRX Suspension Trainer you are essentially getting a very portable gym in a bag.

As far as the Monkey Bar Gym goes …it is okay but have you ever heard of a pro athlete using one?

I rest my case.

Check out the rest of the items on the list below to see if you can create a workout at home that will suit your needs.

Get A Great Workout At Home For Less

The Dallas Morning News

Dropping the extra winter weight or deciding to firm up for swimsuit season takes all kinds of discipline and commitment. Financial discipline and commitment, however, are not among the requirements.

For less than $125, you can afford the basic equipment you need for an overall workout at home, says Dallas trainer Pauline Stafford. Spend a little more, and take your home gym to the next level.

Although Stafford has a fully equipped garage gym where she trains her Freedom Fitness US clients, she says that building a home gym is all about knowing yourself and what you’ll actually use.

The Internet can provide inspiration or instructions on new ways to use what you have.

The items Stafford recommends for your home gym can be found at a variety of stores.

Hey Workout At Home Fan,

This workout is for you if you are a cyclist who wants to stay in the race with a workout at home designed by Lance Armstrongs Tour De France trainer Allen Lim that will help to crash proof yourself in future races.

As you have seen in this years Tour De France unfortuneately crashes are a big part of cycling.

At times the riders are bunched up closely in a group and all kinds of bumping takes place.

Things get worse when the streets are wet from rain or if there are icy conditions.

It is probably inevitable that you will someday crash…

What if you had a portable fitness tool that you could take with you anywhere. ..and what if you had a concise workout from one of the best trainers in the world that could prepare you to be a little more agile and flexible so that you could not only survive a crash but get back into the race.

I don’t know if Lance Armstrong can win this years Tour de France.

He survived a serious crash and maybe thanks to the workout below he got back in the race but now he is minutes behind the leader as I write this post…but I would not count him out.

He is a fierce competitor and he will be a monster as usual in the French Alps as he has been every year.

Be sure to check out the great article below by Andrew Vontz.

It includes a short, specific workout designed to keep you in the race…

Lance, Levi Use TRX to Prep for Tour de France

By Andrew Vontz

The Tour de France (starting this Saturday, July 3 – set your TiVo now!) tests pro cyclists with three straight weeks of racing. During those three weeks, the smallest edge can make the difference between a rider winning the race and dropping out.

That’s why Radio Shack, the team of seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and three-time Tour of California winner Levi Leipheimer, brought Allen Lim on board as the team’s sport scientist.

Lim earned his reputation as a forward-thinking innovator in the cycling world with his groundbreaking Ph.D. dissertation on power meter-based training at the University of Colorado-Boulder years before wattage-based training became the norm for competitive cyclists.

Prior to joining the Shack, Lim played the same role for the Garmin-Transitions team where he worked with athletes including four-time US time trial champion Dave Zabriskie and Tour de France contender Christian Vande Velde.

“My role at Radio Shack is to think about innovation, think about technology, think about the processes the guys go through and bring innovations to the team that work day to day. Some ideas people bring to me don’t fit into the culture or the daily routine and end up being logistically implausible to use.”

When Lim encountered the TRX, though, he knew he’d found an innovative, flexible tool that would benefit his riders throughout the season.

Hi Workout At Home Fans,

All I can say is WOW!

My pulse sped up when I found this for you and I am sure yours will as well…

I have a treat for you if you are looking for an incredible abs work out at home that you can do with two of the most portable and effective gyms on the planet… the TRX Suspension Trainer and the Kettlebell.

The fusion of Kettlebells and the TRX Suspension trainer will quickly improve your aerobic conditioning, agility, flexibility, mobility, balance and functional strength as well as flatten your abs and stomach with a workout at home.

The TRX® Kettlebell™: Iron Circuit Conditioning DVD will feature the top kettlebell trainer in the world Pavel Tsatsouline and Fitness Anywhere’s Director of training Chris Frankel.

If you are thinking that this workout will be too tough for you think again.

When you click on the link below to read the rest of this article you will come to a page with a sample clip of the The TRX® Kettlebell™: Iron Circuit Conditioning DVD and you will notice that each exercise with the kettlebell or TRX is demonstrated three ways.

You will be able to choose the begginer , moderate, or advanced version for each exercise that is demonstrated based on your fitness level.

So even if you are a beginner suspension trainer or new to kettlebells you can do this workout.

This TRX and Kettlebell workout is ingenious because as you get stronger you will want to move up to the more advanced exercises.

You better listen closely to what Pavel says though because he is old school…mess up now and he will be having you do pushups later.

But seriously Pavel may seem really tough and serious but he has a great sense of humor and he will grow on you with time.

And you can rest assured that you are doing the exercises safely because you are getting instructions from two of the best trainers that the world has to offer.

And what is amazing to me is that the kettlebell and TRX are so affordable yet these are the chosen fitness tools of some of the best athletes and trainers in the world.

Yet both the TRX and Kettlebell can be set up quickly and used in a small space in your home or office.

TRX and Kettlebells Unite!

By Fitness Anywhere

You’ve been asking for it, and now [drumroll please] here it is! Launching July 19, the TRX Kettlebell™: Iron Circuit Conditioning DVD & Guide will be available for purchase through the Fitness Anywhere website.

We’ve partnered with Dragon Door Publications, the world leading kettlebell experts, to bring you this 120 minute cutting-edge program utilizing both the TRX® Suspension Trainer™ and RKC® kettlebells for an intense 10 rounds of interval training. (Check out this sneak peak below.)

“The TRX® Kettlebell™: Iron Circuit Conditioning DVD merges two of the most ground-breaking training methods to hit the fitness industry in decades,” said John Du Cane, founder and CEO of Dragon Door Publications, Inc.

“The fusion of the TRX and kettlebells will push and challenge your body in a new way, not only strengthening muscles and improving aerobic conditioning but also increasing explosive power, mobility and balance.”

Hosts former Soviet Special Forces trainer and Russian Kettlebell Challenge (RKC®) Chief Instructor Pavel Tsatsouline and Fitness Anywhere’s Director of Programming, Chris Frankel demonstrate a comprehensive setup and introduction of the TRX and kettlebells, a warm up followed by a 60 minute real-time workout that alternates between each method for intervals that strengthen muscular and aerobic endurance, featuring a series of hybrid TRX/kettlebell exercises to ultimately challenge power and stability, and then finishing with a cool down.

Hi Workout At Home Fan,

I found something exciting for you if you want to flatten your stomach and get six pack abs without resorting to infomercial gadgets that dont work or without having to go to a stinky gym or spend a lot of money on a home gym or treadmill that will always be in the way.

This brief article is from Mike Geary who is the creator of the best selling abs work out program on the planet called The Truth About Abs.

Mike is all about providing you with information that will work.

He tells it like it is with no fluff or B.S.

The following article is short but powerful.

Mike has three exercises that he would like to share with you. These ab exercises are not what you would think of as being traditional ab exercises but Mike promises that they will do more to flatten your stomach than crunches or situps ever will.

The 3 Best Abdominal Exercises that Are Not Traditional Ab Exercises

A unique ab workout that doesn’t contain your typical boring stomach exercises –

no crunches or situps here

by Mike Geary – Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Personal Trainer

Instead of the typical ab routines that we see so often with crunches, situps, leg lifts, etc… I like to give my readers better options for metabolism-boosting high intensity workouts that work their entire body while also working their abs… thus building rock hard abs & core, but also creating a much better fat-burning workout than a typical ab workout.

I’m going to show you an example today of one of my favorite “ab workouts” that doesn’t include any direct “ab exercises” at all. It’s in a tri-set format (similar to a super-set but alternating between 3 exercises).
